It's fun being me.

Subjected Michael to a "Duder Special" (where one crams more into one day than is natural) on Saturday, which involved: helping Po move from Kits at 10am; coffee with my mom at noon; lunch with Big D in Kerrisdale at 2; taking in Kerrisdale Days (we saw that there was a 1 bedroom for rent in our old building so I called to inquire: they want $1,100 a month. I paid $785 when I lived there 3 years ago); 3 mile repeats and coffee afterwards. He then went home while I continued on and cleaned my apartment to get it ready for Sunday's open.
I'm going to try and lay low this week and do fun things like extrapolate my mile repeat times to see how I would fare if I kept the same pace during the half marathon. If you take today, for example, I would not end up with a PB. I will also lie on my couch and obsess about Prospect Point and plan exactly where the best place to take my gel will be to maximize the fuel in my body before I start that 200 foot ascent. I will regret not joining the clinic this time around, because they run at 8am on Sundays and it's nice to get into the habit of getting up early on race day since the race starts at 7am. Downtown. I will berate myself for not losing the five pounds that I've been try to lose for...well, over a year. And I shall promise myself that I will go to bed a decent time all week, forgo alcohol and stay well hydrated and I will break most of those promises to varying degrees.
I love you, gremlins.
Bring it.
I probably won't have a personal best on this race, but I'm totally going to end up back at the physiotherapist's trying.

I used to give "Godnla Specials" to my wife but...time squelches so much. I hope you can be special forever - it's tough. Be grateful for the specialness of today.
