Christmas in Vegas is weird

After the marathon we went back to the hotel and chilled out for a few hours before meeting up with Jay, Andrea and my mom and going to a buffet at the Monte Carlo (we showed up drinking beer out of cowboy boot mugs because... um, we could). A buffet is always a good idea after a marathon. Not only was it all you could eat food, but you could also have all you can drink wine for $10. I tried my best to bankrupt them on both fronts and to gain my ten pounds back. I had creme brulee. I facking love creme brulee. They even had spicy tuna rolls and I thought how dodgy will this be: raw fish in the desert? It was good! It was alllll good.
We then went to see Cirque de Soleil's "O". Totally amazing. We had excellent seats and I'd never been to a Cirque show before. The level of fitness and flexibility that these performers have is mind-blowing. The costumes and makeup were excellent. It cost a pretty penny but I highly recommend going.
Afterwards we checked out the water show at the Bellagio and then went up the Eiffel tower to take in the view (and another water show).
Did I mention it was cold in Vegas?
The day before the run we were out for a light jog and this woman starts chatting us up at one of the lights that takes four days to change (so you can get someone's life history before crossing the street if you so desire) and she was really concerned about how cold it was. We agreed it was cold but that it wasn't too bad and we weren't entirely worried about it which seemed to fluster her so she demanded to know where we were from and we said Vancouver and she said "well no wonder! I'm from Texas!"
It was pretty funny.

Nice vacation... lots of food and drink, lots of greats sights and a fabulous show to top it off. Yeah, we Texans don't get concerned about the weather unless the weather remains the same for 48 hours. It can get cold, but the next day should show a sign of warming up and I mean warming up fast. We like a 30 degree temp change within 24 hours or something is dreadfully wrong.
