So, today was weird

I went to bed around 12:45am last night because I had been watching all kinds of shit on television. Plus I thought I would get to sleep in a bit this morning.
5:30am comes and the cat is literally and actually poking my face with its claws. Okay. Fine. Get up and feed the cat who then curls up next to me and we both fall asleep. Two hours later my phone rings and it's Michael. I wake up at an odd time, in a strange bed and Michael's freaking out saying that his race is actually at 8am, not 11am. I was waaaayyyy too slow to put it all together and then Michael was like "I have to go! The guy is coming to pick me up". We later found out that he had actually failed to hang up his phone cause he was in such a hurry.
Michael's 25 kilometre run was to start at 8am while his biking relay partner would wait at the start/finish for Michael before embarking on his own 30 kilometre ride. Who knew? The other guy, Kyle, didn't figure that the time was off until late in the game either, so they both showed up at the last second, grabbed their bibs and Michael said he was at the start line for scant moments before they were off into the trails. Totally stressful. I need at least an hour to eat and digest and make peace with my impending long and arduous runs. He had to be ready in ten minutes.
He finished in 2:48, covered in sweat and mud and moving rather slowly, but he did it. I'm so proud of him. It was so great to be there, cheering him on with Big D and some of the other runners from our clinic. It's such a nice feeling of camaraderie and the whole thing motivated me to go for a whopping 7.6 kilometre run afterwards. Hey. I'm running 30 kilometres tomorrow morning (fack that's far). I've got to save my energy a bit today.
Then I hopped in my shower at home and the faucet came off again. Yeah. I'm just not going to deal with that right now. We'll have to tighten it further and maybe scour the copper pipe so that the fitting adheres better. Or use some plumbing tape.
Mostly I just want tomorrow's run to be over with and then I want to veg for the rest of the day and drink beer and eat sushi.
Raise your hand if you think I'm the laziest runner you've ever met.
I thought as much.

No, lazy would be me... Our school district had a 5K fund raiser and a bunch of people signed up, not to run but to walk it. Do you think I did? Hell no, I sat my butt on the deck all morning. I feel bad about that, I have got to get back to walking.
