Don't question the horseshoe

Wasn't sure what to do today. Checked the mail and my final cheque wasn't there so I thought I would go and buy some gum. Then I dropped off some CDs and this book that I cracked open today, read four sentences of and almost threw up because it was so bad. You can't go from Gwynne Dyer to chick lit.
It is such a beautiful day out I thought: I'm going to get a book (that doesn't suck) and go read in the park or something. So I look through some books and bang! find a J.D. Salinger that I haven't read before. Then I go to this coffee shop next to the library, have a cappuccino and sit in the sun for forty minutes reading this book which is just so goddamn good. Margaret Atwood and J.D. Salinger forever. Two people chatted to me as I sat there, enjoying the sun.
Then my dentist's office called and said they can fit me in on Thursday for this minor thing that needs doing (I asked if they could squeeze me in before my extended health coverage comes to an end).
Then the mail was being delivered as I came in and I got my cheque.
And I'm going for dinner tonight and the original venue was kind of meh and I was kind of hankering for some fish and chips and the new venue has fish and chips.
What else should I wish for?

Just wanted to let you know, one of our teachers was running in the marathon at White Rock, the girl that died passed out right in front of her husband, 5 miles from the finish. She just collapsed and he stopped to check on her. She wasn't breathing and he started doing cpr. The winds were gusting from 40 to 50 mph and it was warm, upper 70's. Nikki said it was like running in place most of the race.
