Tootsies

I just went to the mall and bought socks. They were on sale so I got 3 nice, warm, cozy pairs for $12. And I'm gonna need them. It's cold out! And it's going to be even colder at Lasqueti. My mom called me at work to remind me to bring my warmest pajamas.
Also, an elderly Chinese woman gave me a Christian pamphlet. Hey! Yep, I should just put my life in the Lord's hands. He'll take good care of me.
But back to how cold it's going to be on the rock. See, the house up there is about a hundred years old. The windows are, well, one hundred year old windows and there is no heating system, per se. The living room will be nice and toasty because that's where the fireplace is, but the bedrooms upstairs will be chilly.
I secretly hope that my dad's cats come to visit us when we're there. Twiggy and Garfield were given away to new homes, but I would like to see them again.
I have a really weird story about Twiggy (my dad's favourite) from when I was up there in August. I just wrote it out and realized it makes me look like more of a wingnut than I am, so let's just say that animals are really intuitive and sometimes are amazingly communicative.
And good at catching pine cones.

If I had your physical address, your feet would be so warm and happy. Ask Maria.

I'd have some explaining to do to my wife but that's normal. We've been married for 21 years, we're in a constant state of "what?".
