Pride and Prejudice

Wow. I am not getting this book.

Lots of gossip and condescension, and way too many words are used to express very simple sentiments.

And there are too many characters. And I don't care about any of them except Mr. Darcy. I just Wikied it and he's played by Colin Firth and so now I think I might rent the movie because I love Colin Firth.

Also, what the hell is a quadrille?

I could use this as an opportunity to wax poetic about American Modernism, except that I loved "Tess of the d'Urbervilles". Like, so much that I was posting excerpts of it on my blog.
