I'm broke, but I want things that cost money

This year, financially, has maybe not been so great. It seems that every month something comes up: new laptop; apartment insurance; car insurance; an assessment on my condo; property taxes.
Being an adult is expensive.
Anyways. I really want a bike. I want this bike.
Unfortunately, in addition to my mortgage, strata fee and the $1,200 - or is it $1,400? - that I have to shell out in the next couple of weeks to "buy back" the portion of my pension from when I was working as a "temp" at my current job (oh my god, sorry for all the union lingo: I just threw up in my mouth a little), I'm strapped for cash.
But I want the bike.
I want it now, actually.
I want to buy it on Sunday or maybe Monday.
Michael said he would lend me some money so I don't have to use my line of credit. Cor. I haven't borrowed money for ages and ages. I think maybe since I bought my '86 Supra back when I was dating that drywaller which was like in 1948 or something.
I hate being indebted to anyone. And I told Michael I would pay him 3% which is more than he's going to get on a GIC. Maybe I'll throw in some sexual favours. He'd probably prefer the cash.
I haven't ridden a bike in so long. I miss it. It's such an ideal way to get around.
I just really hate bike helmets. They're so dorky. Much less dorky than a serious head injury or death, mind.
