So today I paid off my debt that stemmed from the last race. The bet went thusly: if C beat my PB marathon time I owed him $100. If I had a personal best on the half marathon and he didn't beat my PB marathon time he owed me $100.
Well, he blew me out of the water on both the marathon AND the half marathon time and I will never bet money against anyone on anything ever again. Until next time.
I totally thought I was faster.
But I think I'm a lot of things that I'm not.
I was happy to note that I'm not the only one that can't sit through "Open Water". Ha ha. I hope C can finish it in the comfort of his own home (with $100 a booze to assuage the tension) and let me know how it plays out. Which is BADLY.
Sharks scare me.
So does the banality of relationships, which is what I am currently wading through. I suppose, after ten years, everyone gets tired of everything and you just have to hope that you still both subscribe to the the same things over the long term.
Like owning an Audi and a villa in the south of France and screwing the daylights out of the pool boy.
And getting a 1:35 on Sunday, apparently. Give me a minute....yeah, I just got up from rolling on the floor and laughing.
In how many languages can I say "no facking way".
Just one, I think.
So... uh.... "no facking way".
I'll see you around the 1:40 mark.
Unless there are sharks on the course. In which case I will totally do a 1.35.
