Today was interesting in that I normally have chores to do but I did most of them yesterday. It was sunny. I went and picked up (from the library, thankfully) the book that is due at this Wednesday's book club. I'll pan it more when I've finished it, which shouldn't take long because it's only about 170 pages long.
I watched the rest of the "Inn of the Sixth Happiness" which was based on the story of Gladys Aylward who saved 94 Chinese children from the attacking Japanese during WWII. It was certainly a dated movie, but it was interesting and harrowing. Especially impressive given women's place in society in 1938. I was telling Michael how amazingly like Isabella Rossellini Ingrid Bergman is. Uh duh. Bergman is her mother. The resemblance is just amazing.
Ran five miles and managed a 7.35 minute mile pace on average which isn't shabby considering I ran 13 miles on Saturday and did the Grouse Grind yesterday with Michael and Jay and a couple of his friends.
I came in last. Why do I always come in last?? I was ten minutes behind my brother and I run marathons for chrissakes. Piss me off. I blame El Nino.
It was fun, though. I'm always happy to see my brother and it was good to see his friend Greg and have him explain the extreme tactical and strategic nature behind UFC fights. Cough.
