Sextuple Happy Monkey Luck

Today's happy occurrence:
I was more than a little pleased when my boss came over to advise me that the person that I am covering for today, Tuesday and Wednesday (I have Thursday and Friday off) will be back to work Wednesday. I was a bit nervous because the task (of hers) that I was supposed to do on Wednesday I have never done before, and the only other person that was well versed in it is slated to be off also, and I had quite readily convinced myself that I was going to botch things extraordinarily.

Today's happy memory:
Okay, it was just a very short time ago, but I had a great time at Jay's birthday barbeque last night. A's parents, sister and brother in law and their daughter were there in addition to Michael and I and my mom. Later some of Jay's friends showed up and it was interesting to see one of the "kids" that I probably haven't seen in ten or fifteen years. He walks in, bearded and much bigger than me and says, "Hi T-" and I just stared and stared. I would have walked right past him on the street and not recognized him. He's married now and has a five month old baby.
It was a fun night, and not just because I ate a hamburger, cheesies, potato salad, cheesecake, pecan pie and ice cream.

The good news:
Running related, naturally.
