Last night I watched "A Fish Called Wanda". I have been trying to remember to pick up this movie for some time and I finally got it. And you know what? It fucking sucked. It wasn't funny, some of the performances were less than stellar and it was kind of mean. I mean, eating fish and killing shitzus? Why was this movie so hyped? Although I must say that when I mentioned wanting to watch it to both my mother and Michael they both kind of shrugged their shoulders.
Then I had an intense theological online chat with the Robot Liberator until two in the morning because it seemed like a fun thing to do. Actually? I love it. I love debating people that have well thought out arguments and that make me think. It's rare that someone can posit a question that gives me pause, but he threw out a couple of good ones last night.
Wandered around the Quay with Michael today. No free cake, sigh. I got up way too late. Went to the coolest coffee joint that I've been to since that one in Boston. I highly recommend the Cafe for Contemporary Art if you're ever on the North Shore and you want a White Flat and wish to check out some avant garde art and cool furniture.
But back to movies. A movie that is totally worth watching (and no doubt has a wicked soundtrack) is "Young People F*cking". Yep. It covers first date sex, sex with your ex, sex within a long term relationship as well as freaky sex. It was hilarious, poignant, sexy, relatable, frank and a little bit sad. Why? Why leave the glass of wine on the doorstep? Knock on the door, goddamnit!
Also? "Young People F*cking" is a Canadian movie. So it all ties in, no?
