So. Making peace with stuff. Accepting things. Namaste. Feeling better, though I have survivor's guilt (or something like it) but one ought not to because we never know - do we - when the driver of that tractor trailer has fallen asleep at the wheel, or when our bodies will betray us, or... well, you name the scenario. It's all here and it's all now.
But back to how I'm not ranting. I'm only about 20 pages in, but everyone's gotta pick up Noam Chomsky's "Hegemony or Survival". If those stupid fucknuts on Fox's "Red Eye" (how in the hell that passes for news [or a newschannel] still baffles me as much as Hummer drivers do) were to actually make an attempt to educate themselves and spend some time um, maybe, outside of their country (though surely it's the greatest country on the face of the earth, cough) instead of spending such an inordinate amount of time eating apple pie and shoving their heads up their asses, they might actually be able to spew something other than pedantic, exhausted rhetoric and, er, try and pursue some enlightened journalistic endeavors instead of simply regurgitating whatever it is that fucking Karl Rove or Rush Limbaugh or Dick Cheney write for them.
Huh. I guess they're still mad that we didn't jump on board for the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq. How did the Americans end up in Iraq again? Sorry, where was Osama? Oh right, he was in FUCKING AFGHANISTAN. Caught him yet? How are those WMDs coming along?
I should have my own deranged show. I should give Murdoch a call and see if he's keen on it.
Okay. So I ranted a little. Come on. Did you really expect me to walk away from that ridiculous segment that I posted a few days ago (which "Red Eye" had to apologize for)?
It goes back to the Ann Coulter thing: is the guy on "Red Eye" really that stupid, or is he just doing it for ratings?

I need a book for my Spring reading... is this Hedgemony? Fiction or Non? I like to read one of each, at the same time. That way when the non-fiction makes my brain work too hard I can kick back with a fiction for awhile. I'm ADD can you tell!?
Oh.. and Namaste to you too sweetie. He's still with you. Talk to him, he'll answer you in one way or another. My parents spoke to us just last week, we could see it in the way we handled a really hard family situation we were going through. Something they had done years ago, we decided to do the same thing at this time in our lives.
Hegemony is non-fiction. One of the reviews of it says "If, for reasons of chance, or circumstance, (or sloth) you have to pick just one book on the subject of the American Empire, pick this one. It's the Full Monty. It's Chomsky at his best. Hegemony or Survival is necessary reading".
I'm inclined to agree!
I'll have to check that out.
