So. Today. Oh, first off? Rent "W": it was really good.
Slept through the clinic so we ran the two bridges on our own today. I don't know why 15 miles seemed so arduous when we ran 20 last weekend, but anyways. The run didn't end on such a great note because as we were running over the Lions Gate bridge we came upon an accident just as the emergency vehicles were showing up. It involved a guy on a motorcycle and a small SUV. Yeah. I saw the guy on the bike on the ground with medics around him and he seemed to be able to move his hands and arms. I dunno. I really, really, really fucking hope he's okay. The emergency people didn't seem to be looking too alarmed so I always like to interpret that as a positive sign, though perhaps the fack that they never look alarmed is because they've seen it all a million times before.
I didn't make it to see my aunt because I fucking suck. I will go tomorrow.
I got some sun on my face cause it was a sunshiny day.
I saw Po for a couple of beers and some pizza and had to run for the seabus and I always think "this is why I run marathons: so I can catch the seabus with 1:44 to go". Seriously. I see people give up, but there's no goddamn way I'm waiting another 30 minutes for the next one. I am grateful for friends that realize what a badgery, uptight and close-lipped bitch that I am and still invite me out for beers to discuss it anyways. I guess after knowing me for about twenty years she's got a pretty good idea of when I'm doing well and when I'm not doing so hot. She's awesome. Just a truly awesome, talented, intereting and intuitive person who is good at listening.
Had a fun, uh, divergence of opinions with Michael afterwards. We haven't had a fight for ages. We didn't yell once. I did leave and went home, but in the 10 minute trek to my place I was able to formulate my thoughts a bit and we had a nice, hour long discussion (wherein we didn't yell or swear or anything remotely untoward) and so I think we're on the same page. He said he had bought me treats and a running magazine and was bummed that I didn't stay over. So was I. We were having the most kick ass weekend of all times. Mostly cause of those panties I bought at Costco. Who knew?
They're pretty saucy.
