Where was I? Right. I was totally unconscious when the cleaning lady banged on the door at 9am cause I forgot to put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door cause I don't get out much. We got up. Did breakfast and then headed out to see Rem Koolhaas's Seattle Public Library. It was awesome. Coming from North Vancouver the size and scale was overwhelming. I could wax poetic about architecture and public spaces and homeless and education but I won't: if you're in Seattle - check out the library, it's fantastic.
Then we went to the Pike Street market which I think is geared for tourists and was really busy on a Sunday in February so remind me never to go there in the summer because I think the throngs of people would be ridiculous.
On to the Seattle Art Museum. Rad. Rad. Rad. Michael met one one of the architects that designed the building when he was in school. But, yeah. Edward Hopper's exhibit was just so forward thinking for the time. I loved it. I wanted to buy a poster and frame it but I have so much on my walls already. Instead I bought a pin that's like a stop sign but says "Go". I'll have to show you in person - it's super cool.
Lunch at another Irish pub.
On to the Olympic Sculpture Park. Cool. They were doing seeing eye dog training while we were there. Um, I like public art. Seattle seems to be quite into it. I love Seattle.
Felt fat as some people ran past us.
Grabbed the car and headed home, but not before a final Happy Hour in Fairhaven. I love Fairhaven. Fairhaven is so awesome that I think it's all a total facade and a fake town created to entice liberal runners that enjoy wine and coffee and public spaces and eschew chain stores. I want to live there.
Now here I am.
I love North Van too. And Mondays off. And Michael. And creme brulee. And Cabernet Sauvignon.
Such a fun weekend.

Sounds like a lovely weekend.
Yeah, I like the micro-beers in the US, too. Flagstaff has heaps of nice places that serve them.
Man, I love days interspersed with boozy moments. Sod coffee. In Mexico, we'd always take a 'creamer' with us for the coffee.
Ah, memories.
p.s I bought a Speyside scotch tonight, single malt. Very nice. Having it with strawberries, seedless grapes and dark chocolate. As one does.
I'm a lazy fuck.
I should be out jogging or something.
It was such a good weekend. We need to do more little trips.
I'm also going to lobby the BC government to allow us to have Happy Hour.
