Woke up at 3:30am and it hurt to swallow. I still have my tonsils. When I was kid (not to be confused with me now, with all my childish antics) I used to get tonsillitis every year. Every year! Then when I got older I had fun things like "upper respiratory infections" and weird, lingering viruses.
Anyways, I freaked out because the last time my tonsils were swollen I missed over a week of work with this virus and they were so enlarged it was difficult to talk. But the really horrible thing was my energy: I seriously didn't have enough energy to do things like, um, get off the couch or feed myself. It was terrible. Then I started running and got in shape and haven't had anything worse than a cold since.
Anyways. Decided to stay in today. Maybe if I just sleep and take it easy it'll go away. I went to bed at 10 last night and slept until 11:20 today, so obviously I'm fighting something. Usually it's Michael, but today it appears to be a virus.
Go go Gadget auto immune system!

Get yourself some Airborne... that stuff is great. Drink it in about 4 oz. of warm water... just throw it back like a shot of whiskey. If I get a sore throat I lose my voice within 12 hours. Jody prays for me to get a sore throat.
Thanks, Jomamma. I just took half a night time Sinutab or something, so I'm feeling pretty drowsy. I spoke to my mom earlier and - cause she remembers what a sickly kid I was - is all but driving over here to take me to the doctor's.
twice this week I've heard on the news that all you need to take care of the common cold is Sudafed to take during the day for congestion, Benedryl to take at night to dry you up and help you sleep, Robitusen if you get a cough and some Advil if you are achy. The Dr will give you an antibiotic which you don't need b/c it can't do anything for you.
After the hubby taking antibiotics 4-5 times a year for sinus infections for the last 27 years and then developing cancer in his sinuses.... believe me it will take a lot for me to ever go to the Dr for a cold or what someone would call a sinus infection. I was always a sickly kid too and now I can't take antibiotics, they cause more harm than good.
Sleep is good, your body can heal when you sleep. Lots of liquids too... great all you need is another mom!
