Volcanic activity in the bathroom

The two things I wanted to accomplish today, for my peas of mind, were/are cleaning my apartment and getting exercise. I have finally finished cleaning the joint. It is very therapeutic and I feel much more zen now.
Per my alter-blog, I'm trying to be more environmentally friendly (http://breakthehabitsofliving.blogspot.com/2008/06/non-toxic-cleaning-recipes.html) by doing things like bringing my own Tupperware when I order sushi and eating food off the floor even if the five-second rule has been grossly crossed. Since I used up the last of my bleach and ain't buying no more, I decided to mix vinegar with baking something to clean. Was it baking soda or baking powder? Since I am neither clean, nor handy in the kitchen, I really didn't know the difference between the two. And as my mother really wishes I did know how to fend for myself on the culinary front, for my birthday a couple of years ago she bought me all sorts of ingredients to make a myriad of simple recipes (which she also gave me... I must've been looking particularly skinny that year). Amidst the bounty of things she gave me was baking powder. So I set to scouring my bathroom sink and tub, all the while enjoying the fizzing, frothing exuberance that was my new found, environmentally friendly cleaning agent. And damn, if my bathroom doesn't smell like salt and vinegar chips.
Well, I think you all know where this is heading. I essentially cleaned my bathroom with what every 8 year old makes for a science project: a volcano. Uh, yup. So, note to self: buy some baking soda.
Tom Cavanagh will never love me now.

I'm catching up with all your posts. This one is so funny. Baking powder!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I was a baking soda/vinegar wench on the boat last year. Loved it when the concoction would fizzle. Was very good for cleaning. Mighty impressed. Nice and kind to the environment, too.
